Big Bash
Farewell Stadia! Obviously, the big news in our space is the failure of Stadia. While there have been MANY think-pieces about it but Kyle Zappitell summarized it best in his Twitter thread. This isn't the first Google product to fail - you can view a list of Google's dead products and reasons they failed at the Google Cemetery.
Is Twitch Next? In the past, Twitch has had it’s fair share of controversy. However, the latest controversies with gambling leading to bans of many popular streamers. A major Twitch streamer, ItsSliker, admitted he couldn't pay back his fans he misled into loaning him money for his gambling addiction. Many popular streamers including including Pokimane, Mizkif, and Hasan Piker asked Twitch to ban gambling streams.
TikTok Roars Lastly, did you know a TikTok Lion costs $400?! TikTok Live is a new way for creators to earn money. Users with at least 1000 followers can go ‘live’ (i.e. stream) and receive gifts from their followers. Followers purchase ‘coins’ that can be redeemed for ‘gifts’ for the streamer. One of the most coveted gifts is the Lion, which costs nearly $400! Tiktok takes around 50%, but it definitely catches the attention of your favorite creator.
